Ferris Bueller's Day Off at Everhart Park
"Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
The pinnacle of the John Hughes canon, or the nadir of white-suburban nihilism (depending on which reviewer you ask), Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a huge silhouette against the sky of American popular culture. Matthew Broderick is carefree, fast-talking Übermensch Ferris Bueller, hero of his town, and sieze-r of the day. Cameron is his careworn, slow-talking best friend whose dad does not deserve such a beautiful Ferrari.
And it has the "Oh Yeah" song. Remember the Oh Yeah song?
And then there's Jennifer Grey's awesome karate kick! Look, I'll have to stop with the scattershot quoting -- THIS IS A WONDERFUL MOVIE, and the perfect way to kick off the spring/summer season of the Guerilla Drive-In, with beautiful spring weather!
I'll just leave you with this scene:
